In The First Six Months Of 2015, 50 Percent Of Apple Hires Were From Underrepresented Groups

But the company’s top leadership is still 72 percent white men. A look at the company’s brand-new diversity report.

Apple hired 65% more women, 50% more African-Americans, and 66% more Latinos last year than it did the previous year.

According to an introductory letter from Apple CEO Tim Cook, "this represents the largest group of employees we've ever hired from underrepresented groups in a single year."

But overall, the company is still 69% male and 54% white.

(In 2014, it was 70% male and 54% white.)

And its leadership is 72 percent male and 63 percent white.
